Dialog Expands Leading Position in Configurable Mixed-Signal ICs with Over 3.5 Billion Devices Shipped

Dialog Semiconductor, a supplier of highly integrated power management, AC/DC power conversion, charging, solid-state lighting (SSL) and Bluetooth low-power technology, announced that its total shipments of configurable mixed-signal IC (CMIC) products have exceeded 3.5 billion set. This milestone confirms Dialog's configurable technology, including the highly successful GreenPAK® product line, which has become the number one choice for the market.

Dialog's CMICs can help design engineers quickly develop new electronic products in a simpler way. To further support the use of the GreenPAK CMIC by design engineers, Dialog introduced a series of development tools, including support for the recently released GreenPAK SLG46826 and SLG46824 CMICs.

To date, Dialog has launched five development platforms, which provide design engineers with extremely rich tool options for the use of GreenPAK devices to develop electronic products. The three major platforms in the GreenPAK tool family: DIP development platform, advanced development platform and Pro development platform will support the product development of SLG46826 and SLG46824.

The Spice simulation platform can also be used for these devices. Combined with the GreenPAK Designer software, it can realize the advantages of a truly zero-cost development tool suite, which can be downloaded for free. The latest development platform, In-System Programming Board, supports system in-circuit debugging (ISD) and system online configuration (ISP).

The SLG46826 and SLG46824 GPAK devices are both available in a 2.0 x 3.0 mm 20-pin STQFN package and are the first CMICs on the market to support System On-Line Configuration (ISP) using a simple I2C serial interface. This simplifies the development process because it allows the installation of an unconfigured GreenPAK device on the PCB and supports on-line configuration of non-volatile memory (NVM) systems for easy system inspection. This flexibility is also useful in production environments, where configurations can be easily modified or features can be added by configuring non-volatile memory on the production line.

John Teegen, Dialog vice president and general manager of the configurable mixed-signal business unit, said: “Our CMIC products have grown rapidly and our current shipments have exceeded 3.5 billion units, which is mainly due to the rapid adoption of our GreenPAK products by the market. The key reason for the outstanding market performance is a series of high quality development tools provided by Dialog, which fully supports this series of products. We have continued this tradition in the latest generation of products and added more development platform options to support SLG46824 and SLG46826 These new tools will help customers accelerate the application of GPAK devices to their end products."
